Andrew Pickering

Andrew Pickering has practised in the field of clinical/dental negligence for much of his career.  He has experience in particular in the following areas:

·    dentistry (including sub-standard treatment, endodontic issues, un-necessary and poorly executed prosthetic treatment, failure to diagnose and treat periodontal disease, cosmetic dentristry and orthodontics, informed consent issues etc. - his wife is a practising dentist and this is an area of particular interest);

·    orthopaedic surgery (including product liability claims relating to prosthetic hip replacement joint components);

·    general surgery (in particular in relation to hand surgery following initial trauma/laceration to the hand);

·    general medical/accident & emergency (including failure to diagnose/treat haemophiliac after serious road traffic injury);

·    pharmacists (errors in the dispensing of a range of drugs and its effects);

·    brain injury, fatal and high value quantum claims (including issues as to local authority/tortfeasor funding of ongoing care costs, care regimes and case management issues, property conversion/ Roberts v Johnstone calculations, pension and life long lost earnings claims)

Andrew also practises in the fields of personal injury and professional negligence (predominantly negligent conduct of litigation claims against Solicitors).  He has a particular interest in limitation law and its application to personal injury and clinical negligence claims.
