Anne has built up an extensive practice in clinical negligence since she was called to the bar in 1993. She regularly acts for litigants in claims involving NHS trusts, private practitioners and primary health care trusts. Her workload includes complex advisory work, drafting, round table negotiations and trial presentation. This combined with her other areas of practice enables her to bring a comprehensive set of skills to the fore including ability: · to confer with and cross examine expert and lay witnesses · to analyse and present complex medical evidence and legal argument · to value the risk and quantum of claims · to handle anxious clients with care and realism · to work in and be accessible to a team involved in the conduct of litigation Her current casework includes the following type of claims/medical practice: · Failure to obtain informed consent · Missed/delayed/wrong diagnoses · Negligent laparoscopic, cosmetic and orthopaedic surgery · Gynaecology & Obstetrics · Neurology and neurosurgery · Paediatric issues · General Practice PNBA and PIBA membership. Provision of seminars both in chambers and instructing solicitors’ o offices.
