John Corless

John has represented doctors and NHS Trusts in clinical negligence actions. He has acted for Trusts in coroner’s courts and dealt with issues of System Neglect.

John has extensive experience representing a range of clients in professional negligence actions. He represents veterinary surgeons in professional negligence claims brought against them. He has argued Bolam and Bolitho before the Court of Appeal.

In addition John represents veterinary surgeons before the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons.

John has extensive experience both in the preparation and presentation of professional negligence actions. This includes the analysis and assessment of expert evidence. He is used to dealing with clients in difficult and stressful circumstances.

John has given talks on various topics including system neglect; expert evidence; special damages; and the future of medical regulation.
