Anne Whyte practises in clinical negligence, criminal law, civil litigation, proceeds of crime, police law and in the administrative law aspects of these areas.

 

Anne acts for applicants and respondents in civil matters and criminal cases heard in the Administrative Court and has substantial experience advising Local Authorities and Chief Constables as well as acting for individuals.  Her Judicial Review experience includes cases relation to care standards, transport licensing, criminal production orders and media law.

Anne has a well-established practice working with:

  •  NHS Trust
  •  Trade Unions (personal injury and/or employment law work);
  •  Police Forces (Merseyside Police, Greater Manchester Police and North Wales Police);
  •  Local Authorities (Chester City Council, Sefton Borough Council, Wirral Borough Council,  Wrexham Borough Council).

In preparation for the Administrative Court opening in Manchester in 2009 Anne attended the course of Administrative Court Procedures seminars carried out by Brian Thompson of Liverpool University Law School at Atlantic Chambers in 2008.

Anne is particularly interested in developing her Judicial Review practice in clinical negligence and in criminal law particularly in prison, police and production order law.
