Anne Whyte QC

ATLANTIC Chambers are delighted to announce that Anne Whyte has been promoted to the rank of Queen’s Counsel.

The Ministry of Justice confirmed Atlantic Chambers barrister Anne Whyte will officially take silk at a special ceremony to be held in Westminster on 22nd March 2010.


Anne was among 129 new QCs appointed last month after being judged against a competency framework of excellence.

She said: “I am thrilled to have taken silk and look forward to the challenge of continuing to practise both civil and criminal law in the North West”

Anne has featured in many high profile criminal cases and last year was junior prosecuting counsel in the Rhys Jones murder trial.

She graduated from Oxford and was called to the Bar in 1993.

Anne’s success confirms Atlantic Chambers place in the front rank of chambers in the North of England. It greatly strengthens our standing in areas of both criminal and civil work. I am excited by the opportunities this presents for Anne and Chambers.”
