Clinical Negligence e-newsletter

Scott Donovan, Head of Clinical Negligence Group
I am pleased to introduce Atlantic Chambers’ first Clinical Negligence e-newsletter. Atlantic Chambers has established itself as one of the leading clinical negligence barristers’ chambers outside London and we hope to build on this reputation with a series of regular topical and informative newsletters.
Our committed Clinical Negligence Group has a broad base of expertise as reflected in the articles included in this newsletter. Our aim is to provide a dedicated service to solicitors and their clients with genuine added value in both advisory and advocacy skills.
The newsletter also compliments the clinical negligence seminars held by chambers. Having already hosted seminars on a range of work including, urogynaecology, “nervous shock” claims, laparoscopic surgery, dental negligence and Court of Protection work we intend to build upon our previous success in this area.

September 2010 seminar
On 9th September 2010 we will be pleased to host a further seminar with Professor Neil Jones, Professor and Chief of Hand Surgery, at the University of California Irvine. Professor Jones is a pioneer in toe-to-hand transplantations. He has extensive experience of complex hand surgery and what American lawyers call “medical malpractice”. Ms Elizabeth Hardy, an OT care expert, who has extensive experience dealing with upper limb injuries, will provide a complementary talk. Finally Tony Ashton of A & M Wealth will talk on “Management of damages: investment and financial advice.” The event will attract 2 CPD points and there will be space for 50 delegates.
If you would like to attend this seminar, discuss any of the issues raised in this newsletter or receive a dedicated talk from a member of chambers please do not hesitate to get in touch with either myself or Allan Weston, Head of Marketing & Business Development.
