Court of Protection Conference

Atlantic Chambers were delighted to host our inaugural Court of Protection Conference on Friday 16th July at the prestigious new Hilton Hotel at 3 Thomas Steers Way, Liverpool One.

Dr Sam Vovnik and Rachael Banks talked about capacity, Jane MacGregor, a partner with Lees Solicitors LLP, talked about her work as a deputy. Malcolm Sharpe gave an overview to the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Gwynneth Knowles discussed Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards

The Conference, for which there was no charge, carried
3 CPD points and included buffet lunch and other refreshments including an informal drinks reception at the end.

We were delighted to welcome 80 delegates and feedback comments included:
“Seminar was very interesting and clarified a tricky area of the law”
“Very Comprehensive and informative”
“Very useful … helpful to listen to all of the speakers”
“Thank you, very interesting and practical”
“Good presentation, good notes – always a bonus.  Well organized and good mix of speakers and attendees”

If you have would like to instruct Atlantic Chambers in a case with a Court of Protection issue please contact our Head Clerk, Lee Cadwallader, who will be pleased to offer advice regarding choice of counsel.
