Chambers acknowledges the importance of professional development and has an established policy of continuing education organised through our specialised Practice Groups.  Members of Chambers regularly give seminars on topics of interest both internally and externally.  We are SRA accredited CPD providers.

Chambers has been delighted to have welcomed a number of visiting academics in recent years such as: Professor Robert Stevens,  Professor James Edelman,  Dr David Thomas Q.C and Professor Adrian Zuckerman who have each in their respective fields of expertise made a huge contribution to our education programme.

         Atlantic Chambers Property Law Conference 2010

We are delighted to announce that this year’s Property Law Conference will be held at the prestigious new Hilton Hotel at Liverpool One on Thursday, 14th October 2010. The Conference will follow the format of previous years, including a full 3 course lunch and will be accredited with 5.5 CPD points.
 
The keynote speaker for the Conference will be His Honour Judge Hodge QC (Specialist Chancery Judge) who will speak on the topic of Rectification for Mistake and we are also very pleased to welcome Martin Roberts (presenter of BBC TV’s Homes Under the Hammer) who will deliver his forecast of what may be around the corner in the property market generally. 
 
Specialist topics to be covered include:

·   Landlord & Tenant Update;
·   Professional Negligence claims arising from Conveyancing;
·   Property Notices;
·   Adverse Possession.
 
In addition, guest speakers, Gerry Metcalfe (a Forensic Document Examiner with Hayward Associates LLP) will discuss forged signatures, whilst James Kersh from Sutton Kersh will deliver his thoughts on Auctions. Clinical Negligence Conference     
Professor Neil Jones, University of California Irvine
On 9th September 2010 our Clinical Negligence Group will be pleased to host a further CPD Conference with Professor Neil Jones as our main speaker.  Professor Jones is Chief of Hand Surgery, at the University of California Irvine and is a pioneer in toe-to-hand transplantations. He has extensive experience of complex hand surgery and what American lawyers call “medical malpractice”.

Ms Elizabeth Hardy, an OT care expert, who has extensive experience dealing with upper limb injuries, will provide a complementary talk.

Finally Tony Ashton of A & M Wealth will talk on “Management of damages: investment and financial advice.”

Subject to accreditation, the Conference will attract 2 CPD points and numbers will be limited to 50 delegates.
