Nicola specialises in family law, with a particular interest in matters relating to children.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Nicola spent 5 years in a busy Local Authority legal department where she managed a significant caseload dealing with a wide variety of Children Act matters. These included care and supervision proceedings from issue to disposal, matters under the pre-proceedings protocol, placement proceedings, private law proceedings and matters before the High Court involving the Inherent Jurisdiction and Brussels II Revised.
Furthermore having spent a number of years advising the Local authority's Fostering and Adoption Panels, Nicola has extensive experience of issues concerning fostering, particularly in relation to connected persons carers within care proceedings and issues relating to SHOBPA decisions.
