Teleri transferred to a career in law in 2005 having previously taught Philosophy and Ethics. She started her training contract with a Liverpool firm in 2007 and qualified as a solicitor in 2009. From then onwards, Teleri practised as a family law solicitor and secured membership on the Children Law Panel in 2015. Teleri then worked as a family law solicitor in Runcorn from 2017 until 2019 and in December 2019 began working as an in house Children Safeguarding Solicitor for a Local Authority. Teleri has throughout this period completed her own advocacy and has advised clients on all aspects of Family and Childcare law.
Further to her passion for advocacy, Teleri has recently transferred to the Bar to and was called to the Bar in July 2020.
Having practised as a Solicitor prior to moving to the Bar, Teleri is well aware of the demands placed upon the professional client and strives to provide a service that alleviates some of those pressures. She is committed to reporting back in a timely fashion with clear information and advice for the on-going management of the case.
Teleri practises exclusively as a Family Law Practitioner.
She regularly appears before the Family Proceedings Court, County Court and less frequently before the High Court.
Teleri covers all areas of family practice and represents all parties to proceedings as instructed. Having recently worked for a Local Authority she welcomes instructions from local authorities but also regularly represents parents and children through their guardians.
Teleri conducts all cases relating to Public Law proceedings including Emergency Protection Orders, Interim Care Orders, Placement Orders, Adoption Orders, Applications for leave to oppose adoptions and Applications for discharge
Teleri has conducted urgent hearings, case management hearings, experts meetings, interim contested hearings as well as multi-day final hearings. She has represented parties in cases relating to domestic abuse, neglect, emotional and sexual harm, substance misuse, non-accidental injury and immigration issues.
Teleri accepts instructions in all private family law matters relating to contact, residence, prohibited steps applications and specific issue applications. Teleri has advised and represented applicants and respondents at first directions appointments, financial dispute resolution hearings. She also conducts cases in respect of applications brought under the Family Law Act including most regularly Occupation Orders and Non Molestation Orders and committal proceedings.
Described as a diligent and tenacious advocate Teleri is committed to providing expert but realistic advice and to achieving the best outcomes for her clients in court.
Teleri is originally from North Wales and is fluent Welsh Speaker.
