Chambers experts joined by poineering surgeon at Clinical Negligence Conference24/01/13
Atlantic Chambers Clinical Negligence Group presented their all-day conference to a large audience of Solicitors and Colleagues at the prestigious Hilton Hotel, Liverpool One.
This event saw key specialist speakers Justin Valentine, Shannon Eastwood and James Patience speaking. Topics included 'The Quality of Expert Evidence', 'Costs under the Microscope' and 'Cutting through Causation'.
Joining them was the world-leading liver cancer expert, Graeme Poston, who is Professor of Surgery at the University of Liverpool and a consultant surgeon at Aintree University Hospital.
Prof Poston was awarded the prestigious Stanford Cade Medal in 2009 by the Royal College of Surgeons. The medal is the highest honour in British cancer surgery and was given in recognition of Mr Poston's lifetime achievements which include being the first surgeon in Britain to use cryogenic surgery.
Two other experts in their field will address the audience, both from Liverpool Women's Hospital NHS Trust: Miss Elisabeth Adams, Consultant Uro-Gynaecologist and Dr Mark Clement-Jones, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
Scott Donovan, a specialist in Clinical Negligence chaired a Q&A session. He said: "The day was an excellent and insightful day with a compelling mix of top class clinical practitioners and Chambers' own experts in clinical negligence work."
