James Granby is awarded Pegasus Scholarship08/04/14
Atlantic Chambers is delighted to announce that James Granby, a member of Chambers' Chancery and Commercial team, has been awarded the outgoing Pegasus Scholarship to Bermuda for 2014. James was interviewed for the prestigious award by a panel comprising members of the Pegasus Trust Committee including James Guthrie QC, The Hon. Mr Justice Sales, Patricia Edwards and His Honour Michael Brooke QC.
The Pegasus Trust is a scheme administered by the Inner Temple that provides opportunities for barristers in their first five years' practice to gain experience working abroad in another legal jurisdiction. It was founded by Lord Goff of Chieveley with the purpose of forging links between the English legal profession and the legal professions of other common law countries.
James will spend a period of six weeks in Bermuda beginning in July 2014 working with host firm Appleby Global. Appleby is one of the world's leading offshore legal fiduciary and administration service providers, with offices in offshore and financial centres around the world.
The scholarship is an excellent opportunity for James to gain experience and develop a more international practice. We wish him luck and look forward to reading his report in August!
