Sarah Egan

Atlantic Chambers welcomes Sarah Egan, who joins Chambers from St. Albans Chambers.

Prior to coming to the Bar Sarah read for a Ph.D. in German Literature and Philosophy and tutored undergraduates.  She subsequently qualified and worked as an investment analyst in the City of London in asset management and private banking. Between Call to the Bar and commencing Pupillage, Sarah worked as an in-house legal advisor to a commercial bank in the City.  She provided legal advice on a broad spectrum of matters including banking and financial services law; insolvency and company law; corporate financial transactions; contracts; and landlord and tenant law.  Sarah is pleased to be able to offer the benefit of this financial expertise and experience in Chancery and Commercial practice.

Sarah remains a Door Tenant at St Albans Chambers, where she has a predominantly Family practice.  Sarah's background as a former investment analyst and an in-house banking lawyer is especially useful in ancillary relief and matrimonial finance matters.  She is comfortable perusing financial statements and documentation and dealing with trusts and the disposal of assets.  In public law children proceedings Sarah has represented Local Authorities, parents and Children's Guardians from First ICO Appointments to Final Hearings, often in cases involving abuse and non-accidental injury and/or with an international element.  Sarah's experience in private law children matters includes applications for Child Arrangement Orders (formerly Child Contact Orders and Residence Orders) and for Prohibited Steps Orders.

Sarah read for a Masters' Degree in Philosophy at the University of Liverpool and is delighted to have returned to the city from London. She appreciates that Liverpool offers a different pace and a better quality of life and looks forward to being able to avail of the opportunities to pursue her interests in art and music, and the diversity of culture Liverpool has to offer.

Chambers are delighted that Sarah will be able to offer the benefit of her expertise and experience in these areas.
